SUMMERSANTA.ORG SANDWICH ACHIEVES LEGENDARY STATUS

The SummerSanta.org Sandwich

A sandwich for sale at Weinberger's Deli in Grapevine and Westlake, Texas — named in honor of our website, "SummerSanta.org" — has proved so successful that owner Dan Weinberger is inducting it into his Sandwich Wall of Fame. From his popular Grapevine eatery at 601 S. Main Street, Dan tells us that the tipping point for the sandwich, which has competed for two years in his annual March Madness Sandwich Competition, was a feature story in DFW.com by food critic Joseph Daniel who praised the sandwich as "heavenly" and called it a "vegetable sandwich unlike any we've ever tasted — completely mind altering." The sandwich contains basil, mozzarella cheese, oil, olive salad, onions, tomatoes and vinegar on toasted rye. Dan says, "It's not just about the individual ingredients. It's about how they all combine to create a special flavor and texture." Dan named the sandwich after us because he has always supported our all-volunteer charity. Try one!
