Summer Santa is powered by volunteers. Because we have no paid staff, every hour given helps provide school clothes, camp experiences, enrichment resources, and practical support for children across Northeast Tarrant County.

Board Positions
Events Chair
The primary role of the events chair is to develop and execute strategies to raise funds and resources to support Summer Santa’s goals and initiatives. The events chair will work closely with board members and volunteers to plan and implement fundraising events such as galas, in-home parties, social events (such as wine tasting, poker nights, painting, escape room), or other fundraising ideas.
The events chair will manage event logistics, coordinate vendor relationships, develop and manage an event budget, coordinate volunteer recruitment, develop an event timeline, and assign roles and responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Summer Santa’s mission, possess strong organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and engage others. Previous event planning experience is desired, but not required.
You must be available to attend monthly board meetings, and to hold committee meetings as required to plan events.

Sponsor Chair
The sponsor chair is responsible for cultivating relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other potential supporters. They will identify and research potential donors, develop cultivation strategies, and engage in personalized outreach to build rapport and secure financial contributions. They will also ensure proper stewardship of donors by expressing gratitude, providing regular updates, fulfilling any promised sponsor benefits, and maintaining ongoing communication.

Summer Camp Liaison
The summer camp liaison will assist the summer camp committee by cultivating relationships with potential summer camps that wish to participate in our program. This position will be the lead contact to the summer camp and facilitate communications and registration.
The summer camp liaison will work closely with the summer camp committee and the IT programmer to ensure a smooth flow of information.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Summer Santa's mission, possess strong organizational skills, and have availability to serve year round.

School Counselor Liaison
The school counselor liaison will serve in a support role. The objective of this position is to have parents in the schools that represent Summer Santa. The school counselor liaison will establish a relationship with the school counselor and be an additional resource for information and follow up.
The school counselor liaison will work closely with the summer camp committee to ensure a smooth flow of information and problem solving.

The camp in a box coordinator will manage the event logistics, coordinate vendor relationships, develop and manage an event budget, coordinate volunteer recruitment, develop an event timeline, and assign roles and responsibilities. The camp in a box coordinator will work closely with the Camp In A Box Committee Chair.
This is a committee position. You will be required to attend committee meetings that pertain to the camp in a box program. The majority of your time commitment will be in January and May.

General Volunteers
Fundraising Volunteer
This volunteer position is perfect for anyone who wants to host a fundraising event that will benefit Summer Santa. There are so many ways you can help Summer Santa. You can host a private event and donate the proceeds to Summer Santa. You can spearhead a peer-to-peer giving drive. You can ask your family members to donate to Summer Santa in lieu of giving gifts for Christmas or Birthdays. The list is endless.

Social Media Volunteer
This position is a perfect way to involve your friends, family, co-workers and interest groups in the support of Summer Santa.
We are seeking volunteers who will like, share and participate in social media campaigns with Summer Santa. Our goal is to increase our social media presence and reach, as well as attendance and awareness of our events.
You can help by following our Summer Santa social media pages. Sharing these pages and events with your friend groups, book clubs, HOA, bible studies etc. We ask to you promote our events and fundraisers and encourage your contacts to participate.

Back-To-School Shopping Escort
This volunteer position will assist student shoppers at Kohl's during one of our back-to-school-shopping events. The volunteer will be paired with a child aged 7 to 14, and be their personal shopper for the event helping the student pick out clothes and shoes. Guidelines for shopping and expenses will be provided.
The time commitment for this position is a few hours on the day of the back-to-school-shopping events. The events usually take place in early August.
We work closely with YMSL and NCL Southlake. All students and adults are welcome.

Camp In A Box Assembly
This volunteer position will help package and prepare the materials for camp in a box. Responsibilities could be building boxes, blowing up basketballs, placing toys in boxes, or helping load delivery vehicles.
The time commitment for this position is a few hours on the day of the camp in a box distribution day. This is typically in early May.
The ideal candidate will be able to lift boxes and stand for 3 to 4 hours. We work closely with YMSL and NCL Southlake. All students and adults are welcome.

Event setup/takedown
This volunteer position will assist with the setup and teardown of our events. Some possible duties might be setting up decorations or auction items at events. You might be needed to help stuff supplies in back packs or label books. The duties vary and are specific to each event.
